Level 4

Practitioners in this role work with children, young people, and families to achieve positive outcomes and sustainable change. This apprenticeship prepares individuals to work in various settings, including social care, youth services, and early help, providing support and interventions tailored to the needs of children and families.

  • Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking their end-point assessment.

Level 4 Children, Young People, and Families Practitioner Apprenticeship

  • Roles such as Senior Practitioner, Team Leader, or Specialist Worker.
  • Further study in social work, youth work, or family support.

  • Observation of Practice: Direct observation of working with children and families.
  • Case Study: Written analysis of a case from practice.
  • Professional Discussion: Discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence.
  • Grading: Pass, Merit, or Distinction.
