What is Safeguarding?
Safeguarding refers to the actions taken to protect individuals, particularly children, young people, and vulnerable adults, from abuse, harm, and neglect. It ensures that everyone, regardless of age or background, is provided with a safe environment to live, work, and learn.

- Protecting individuals from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and harm

What is Prevent?
The Prevent strategy is a part of the UK government’s counter-terrorism strategy aimed at stopping people from being drawn into radicalisation and extremism. It focuses on early intervention to protect individuals who may be at risk of being influenced by extremist views or engaging in terrorism..
Key Aspects of Prevent:
- Identifying individuals at risk of radicalisation
- Providing support through education and intervention
- Promoting critical thinking and awareness to counteract extremist ideologies
- Encouraging safe, inclusive environments where all individuals feel valued and heard
