Health and Social Care and Children’s and Young Peoples Course

Level 1

The Level 1 Health and Social Care and Children’s and Young People’s course provides a strong foundation for a career in the care sector. It is designed to equip learners with the core knowledge and practical skills valued by employers, covering fundamental topics such as principles and values in care, effective communication, and promoting equality and inclusion. Throughout the course, you will also develop professional skills, learn about safeguarding, protection, and health & safety, and gain awareness of healthy living and wellbeing.

Upon successful completion, you will earn a Level 1 Health and Social Care and Children’s and Young People’s qualification. This certification shows employers that you have the foundational skills required for a range of entry-level positions. Graduates of this diploma can pursue rewarding roles like Care Assistant, Early Years Assistant, Classroom Assistant, or Health Care Support Worker, among others.

  • Must be aged 16 or above.
  • Must have a valid UK address.
  • Must not be enrolled on another government-funded course.
  • Must meet residency requirements (e.g., living in the UK for at least 3 years or have eligible status).

You will gain practical support to prepare for the workplace.
We will work with you to build your confidence, develop your CV, and strengthen your job application and interview skills.
Throughout your learning, you will have access to a dedicated tutor who will guide you, answer your questions, and support your progress every step of the way.

12 hours per week – ~40 weeks total
