The Great Mile: Walking Together for Wellbeing

What a day! The GST team laced up their walking shoes and set off on an incredible 25-mile journey of connection, laughter, and fresh air — a true celebration of teamwork and wellbeing.

Our adventure began bright and early with a well-deserved coffee outside North Acton Station. The café buzzed with morning energy as we fuelled up and prepared for the day ahead. A quick hop on the Elizabeth Line took us to High Barnet, where the real adventure began, a stunning trek along the Dollis Valley Green Walk.

The weather couldn’t have been better: blue skies, sunshine, and a refreshing breeze made it the perfect day for walking, talking, and taking in the natural beauty. Along the way, we shared snacks, stories, and plenty of laughter. Each step was a reminder of how powerful it can be to take time away from screens and reconnect with one another.

At GST, we know that supporting mental health and wellbeing isn’t just about policies — it’s about creating real moments of balance and connection. The Great Mile was more than a walk; it was a chance to recharge, reflect, and remind ourselves that taking care of our well-being helps us bring our best selves to work and to life.

We wrapped up the day at the beautiful Hampstead Heath, just in time to catch a spooky Halloween display at Kenwood House — the perfect ending to an unforgettable journey. As the sun set, we gathered for one last group photo overlooking Parliament Hill, feeling proud, inspired, and united.

A big thank you to everyone who joined and helped make the Great Mile a huge success. Together, we proved that a healthy mind, an active body, and a strong team can take you anywhere.
