Level 1

Employability Level 1 qualification is designed for learners preparing to enter work or further training. You’ll build practical, work-ready skills in the areas employers value: effective skills, qualities and attitudes; developing personal confidence; preparing for work; recognising opportunities; job searching; career planning and making applications; and interview skills. You’ll also get hands-on support to build a strong CV and improve your applications, with a dedicated tutor guiding you throughout.

A City & Guilds Level 1 Award in Employability Skills shows employers you have the foundations needed for entry-level roles and progression.

  • Aged 16 or above
  • Resident in the UK for at least 3 years
  • Basic level of literacy and numeracy
  • Keen to develop employability skills to support entry into work or further training

You will gain practical support to prepare for the workplace.
We will work with you to build your confidence, develop your CV, and strengthen your job application and interview skills.
Throughout your learning, you will have access to a dedicated tutor who will guide you, answer your questions, and support your progress every step of the way.

This course has a total of 110 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) and is delivered at 6 hours per week.
The programme runs for approximately 19 weeks, including time for assessments and portfolio completion.
Qualifications:
City & Guilds Level 1 Award in Employability Skills.

  • Apprenticeships in sectors like, Administration, or Care.
  • Entry-level employment opportunities in a wide range of industries where strong employability skills are valued.
  • Customer Service Assistant
  • Administrative Assistant
  • Hospitality Staff (e.g., Receptionist, Waiter/Waitress)
  • Warehouse or Logistics Operative
  • Care Support Worker (entry-level)
